Dronley Branding*

Working with Dronley Working Woods was a chance to create a brand rooted deeply in place, purpose, and sustainable practice. This wasn’t just a logo project, it was about capturing the ethos of a woodland managed for community, biodiversity, and traditional skills.

Dronley is more than a forest; it’s a living classroom, a conservation project, and a working woodland all in one. The challenge was to craft a visual identity that reflected their commitment to regenerative forestry while feeling approachable and grounded. I distilled their values into a brand system centred around organic shapes, natural colour palettes, and a logo mark that echoed the flow of tree from seed to sapling.

From print materials to signage and digital applications, the identity was designed to remain understated yet distinctive, allowing the woodland itself to remain the hero. Every touchpoint was developed with environmental responsibility in mind, using recycled stocks, minimal ink coverage, and scalable digital assets to keep their footprint light.

This wasn’t about slick marketing, it was about authenticity, community, and nature. Seeing the identity rolled out at volunteer events and woodland workshops, helping people feel welcomed and inspired, was incredibly rewarding.

It remains one of my favourite projects: a reminder that branding isn’t just for corporations. It can be a tool to support communities, celebrate nature, and help organisations grow with clarity and purpose.
